What We Do

Egypt’s Garden is here for Black and Brown Trans folks in New Orleans. In a city rich with culture but full of systems that try to push us out, we are standing strong - creating spaces where we are safe, supported, and thriving. Our work is about survival, joy, and self-determination.

Our Services

  • From harm reduction to sexual health, self-defense, and wellness, we give our community the tools to stay safe and in control of our bodies and lives.

  • Finding a doctor who respects you shouldn’t be a fight. We connect Black and Brown Trans people with affirming providers who see us, hear us, and care for us without judgment.

  • New Orleans is home, but this city doesn’t always protect us. We help our community access housing, legal support, emergency resources, and whatever it takes to make sure we stay safe and have what we need.

  • We know the struggle of job discrimination. That’s why we assist with resumes, job searches, and workplace advocacy - because financial freedom is a part of our liberation.

  • We deserve to rest. To gather. To heal. Egypt’s Garden is a space where Black and Brown Trans people can just be - without fear, without judgment, and without having to explain ourselves.

Why We Do This Work

Because Black and Brown Trans people in New Orleans deserve to live free. We are not asking for permission to exist. We are taking up space, building our own, and making sure our people have what we need to survive and thrive.
